APRIL

Folk Garden is OPEN

Spring has found its way back to Folk, and our garden tables are back and open for dining once again.

It’s that time of the year for iced coffees, sunny brunches, and those ‘just one more’ moments that happen when you’re sitting outside with nowhere else to be.

To keep things nice and easy out there, we’ve introduced QR ordering in the garden - meaning less time waiting, more time sipping. It also helps us keep everything ticking along smoothly when the sun brings everyone out at once for our 10minutes of solar charged British summer.

If you’re more of a chat-to-a-human type, don’t worry - our team at the shop counter are always ready to take your order the old fashioned way.

Sun when we get it, good food always. We’ll see you in the garden!

There’s A New Guest On The Grinder

This time we’re pouring from Hard Lines Coffee, an independent Welsh roastery known for bold characterful coffees and a strong set of values. They’re part of 1% for the Planet, meaning 1% of all sales goes directly to environmental causes - so every cup is doing a little good, too.

On the bar right now is their Canton Blend - a proper all-rounder. Expect a cup that’s juicy, sweet and full-bodied, with ripe fruit notes, a smooth texture and a balance finish that holds up beautifully in milk while still staying clean as a filter.

It’s the kind of coffee that fits whatever mood you’re in, easy drinking but far from boring.

You’ll find it running as our guest grinder - served as standard with your flat white of filter, or ready to upgrade your usual order.

And if becomes your go-to, retail bags are waiting in the Folk shop.

One of our own is doing something slightly unhinged… in the best way.

Fergus (barista, cocktail slinger and all-round good human) is taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge with his pals Jed and Luke. That’s Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike AND Snowdon… all within 24 hours.

No big deal.

They’re doing it to raise money for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a cause close to their hearts, and it’s properly worth getting behind. It’s going to be tough, probably a bit delirious, and definitely powered by questionable amounts of coffee.

If you’ve ever had a great drink from Fergus, coffee or otherwise, this is your chance to return the favour.

You can support the challenge here:

Give what you can, share it around, and cheer them on.

Disclaimer - you may find him perched, rather than stood, at the coffee machine on the days after and we’re totally on board with that.

*NEW MAKER STOCK ALERT*

We’ve just started stocking Nowa Glassware, handcrafted pieces made from recycled bottles. Each glass has it’s own character, simple, tactile and properly satisfying to hold.

They’re kind of perfect for whatever you’re drinking, be it an iced matcha, a Mother Root, or a spicy marg. Iconic domed punt bottoms, available in green, amber and hints of blue, these beauties are selling fast. We’ve also got a small run of their vases in too, if you’re looking to bring a bit of that same feel to your space, because magnum size bottles aren’t just for après on the slopes.

We first spotted Nowa at the March Wavy Market and knew straight away they’d fit right in at Folk - so we’re very happy to have them on the shelves.

If you missed it, the next Wavy Market is on 3rd May 10-3pm, a lovely highlight for the bank holiday weekend.

In the meantime, come and have a browse next time you’re in.
