Operations Manager

Full Time

We’re looking for an energetic, problem-solving hospitality lover to join our incredible team, where you know walking into your day, anything could happen — and that’s exactly what we love about it. For us, the unexpected isn’t a disruption; it’s where the fun, creativity and best moments often begin.

You are the person who is meticulous about detail – not because someone tells you to be, but because getting things right and making sure everyone has what they need to do a brilliant job, matters to you personally.

Working closely with our General Manager and Event Manager, you’ll be responsible for keeping the operation running like clockwork — from staff scheduling and rotas to stock, suppliers, service standards, training, costs and compliance. The role will also include elements of executive support to both our General Manager and Business Owner.

You’ll be hands-on, highly organised and self-directed, planning and flagging things proactively, commercially minded and happiest when you’re making things happen behind the scenes. Enthusiasm and adaptability are a must, always willing and to roll your sleeves up and jump in when needed.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Solid hospitality experience

  • A seriously organised approach

  • Someone who spots a problem before it becomes one

  • A good head for numbers, stock & scheduling

  • Exceptional standards, good energy and a genuine love of hospitality & people

You won’t be doing it alone. You’ll work alongside our General Manager and Team Leaders to support the team and make sure Folk continuously and consistently feels like Folk — relaxed, welcoming and exceptional at what we do.

If you’re a doer, a fixer and a lover of great hospitality, we’d love to hear from you.

WHAT LOOKS GOOD TO US

Things that are important to us:

  • We pride ourselves on scheduling staff rotas a minimum of one month in advance – when last minute changes demand, you’re quickly able to flex, sometimes outside of standard working hours to adapt and move things around quickly.

  • Meticulous inventory of stock, pre-planning, coordinating, budgeting and ordering of stock daily, pre-empting weeks and months in advance of special occasions and events.

  • Embracing the nature of troubleshooting day in day out is paramount and essential to the smooth and calm operation of the business – always expect the unexpected!

  • You are embodiment of FOLK – the eyes and the ears that see and hear it all before anyone else notices. When the music is too low - you’ve already fixed it, when the poster is out of date - it’s already been replaced, when the lamp is wonky, it’s already been straightened – nothing phases you and nothing passes you by.
