Shop Lost Wax Casting Workshop with ALBA Jewellery

Lost Wax Casting Workshop with ALBA Jewellery

£120.00

Saturday 8th February | 10am-12.30pm

Come and use the ancient process of lost wax casting to make a piece of jewellery to treasure forever. In this workshop, you will be able to learn about and explore the properties of the different waxes used by jewellers and ultimately fashion something you would like to have cast in metal.

Initially there will be a chance to browse reference books for inspiration. You can bring along your own sketches or ideas - or just go with the process and let your hands guide you.

Jacqueline will provide all waxes and tools, show you a few techniques and then you will get your hands on the wax pretty quickly for some play and exploration in a comfortable, friendly and productive atmosphere. You can make either a ring or a pendant piece - extras like chains will be available to purchase on the day.

The cost covers having your piece cast in brass or bronze in Hatton Garden, then finished and polished by Jacqueline. If you would prefer it cast in silver, she can weigh and work out the additional cost. It is also possible to have a second piece cast at an extra cost.

Your jewellery will be ready about two weeks later and will come packaged in a velvet bag in which to store your piece. You can either pick up from Folk, or arrange for me to post your piece directly to you using Special Delivery.

A tea, coffee or soft drink, and cake bite from Folk will be included.
